My first uninvited belly touch.

When you are pregnant, something you will need to deal with are people who want to touch the belly.  Well, actually, not everyone wants to touch the belly.  You have all sorts of different people when it comes to pregnant belly touching.

Here is what you get:
1.  Strangers who will approach you and ask.  It's great if they ask, but what if you weren't pregnant?!
2.  Strangers who just come right up and place their hands on you.
3.  Family/friends who ask.
4.  Family/friends who just come right up and touch.
5.  People who think it's icky to touch and don't want to even if you tell them they can.  (my sister falls under this category, she thinks it's gross to let people touch you and she doesn't want to do the touching either haha)
6.  Your partner, who usually doesn't touch but you grab his hand and put it on your belly when the baby is moving, because this early on in my pregnancy I still think it's neat and I want him to feel it too.  :)
7.  Your doctor who measures the "Fundal Height" (how big the uterus is).

I have had experiences with 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.   I think this is mostly because it's still difficult to tell that I am pregnant.  I have just started my 7th month of pregnancy (yesterday was day one!) and I'm really just starting to show.  Maybe I will do another belly picture soon.  One of my pregnancy emails suggested doing a photography session of my belly but all I could think was "what for?".   I really don't have much to show for it.  I hope my future daughter isn't disappointed that I don't have more belly pictures in case she ever wants to see them.  I just don't see anything worth taking a picture of. :)

So let me tell you about my experiences.  Number 7 is pretty funny.  At my last appointment (not yesterday's appointment) the doctor was measuring my fundal height and the baby was kicking at her the whole time.  And when she used the fetal doppler, the baby would kick at it and then move...I don't think the baby liked it.   We didn't have a lot of movement during yesterday's appointment, but I think that is because I was hungry.  I had to do the gestational diabetes test (my instructions were to fast for four hours before the test) and my appointment was first thing in the morning.  I hadn't eaten anything since the night before, so I think that contributed to the baby being quiet.   I have also decided that not letting a pregnant woman eat is about the meanest thing you can do to a pregnant woman.  I turned irrational, crabby and I nearly passed out at the doctor's office.   When I was finally allowed to eat again (you need to drink the orange stuff, wait one hour, get blood drawn, THEN you get to eat) I got a milk and an egg and cheese wake up wrap from Dunkin Donuts.  The moment I drank some milk all my senses returned to me.

And then I realized just how horribly mean I had been to my husband that morning.  I was really awful.  I was upset because the living room was a mess and I was probably crabby from no food and I also have a head cold.  I was pretty unhappy.  But once I had food in my system, I immediately realized this and I called him to apologize.  I also took him out for lunch.  The best part about my husband?  He puts up with me!  How lucky am I?  (okay, okay, so there are MANY great things about my husband, but definitely high up there is that he puts up with me.)

Experience number 6 I believe I have already mentioned in a previous post.

Experience number 5 is my sister.  I have invited her to touch a few times.  (especially because she likes to tease me that I am faking my pregnancy)  But she refuses to touch.   Which is fine, I prefer not to be touched anyway. :)

Experience number 3 was my co-worker who asked while reaching at the same time.  I think I reacted pretty quickly by putting my hands on my belly, and I told her no, but only because there was no movement and it would be pretty boring.  I promised her that if there was movement I would come back so she could feel it, but I wasn't at that office for very long and so there was no touching.  I should probably try to control my reaction better, I probably seemed over-protective.  I really don't think I would have minded, but the request caught me off guard.

And experience number 4 is probably the best/funniest/cutest one.  This is because on Christmas Day I had someone touch my belly without asking.  And there was nothing I could do about it.  I was reclining on the couch and holding my belly because the baby was kicking quite a bit.  Basically I was taking a rest and enjoying the kicks.  And my four year old niece walks over, smiles shyly at me and puts her hand on my belly.  It was too cute and I couldn't get mad about it.  :)

So what advice would I give for wanna-be belly touchers?  Here ya go:
1.  If you don't know the person is pregnant, don't assume!  Start chatting with them, if they want you to know they are pregnant, they will bring it up.   If they do, ask about the baby, how they are doing, and then ask permission while keeping your hands at your side, don't reach while asking!
2.  ALWAYS ASK!  Don't reach until after you have been given permission.
3.  Ask if the baby is kicking at the moment, a belly touch is pretty boring unless the baby is moving.
4.  ASK ASK ASK.

Did I mention you should ask first?  :)

I hope you all enjoyed my belly touching post.  I have three more months to go, a huge belly to grow and a baby shower to go through as well.  Hopefully I can get some more stories to post about belly touching.

Have a Happy New Year!

Snuggies rule! (who knew?)

I hope everyone had a good holiday!

I had a great one.  I got almost everything I wanted and I got to visit with some relatives that I haven't seen in a while.  I had Christmas morning at my sister's house where we did a webcam Christmas with my parents and ate Cinnabons (a tradition my dad started when we were teenagers!). :)

One gift that surprised me (meaning, I was surprised by how much I like it) was a New England Patriots Snuggie.  (the blanket with sleeves)  This isn't the type of thing that I would ever buy for myself and I thought I might make fun of it as a gift....but we have blizzard like weather here today (and yesterday) and it is very warm!  And the sleeves are very convenient.  Especially while snacking during the Patriots game. :)   (and we won the game!  yay my weekend keeps getting better!)

Oscar got a really cool gift as well.  It's a light that attaches to his collar.  It glows a bright red-orange color and we put it on his collar last night.  I let him out into the blizzard and then watched through the window.  I yelled out to Anthony "he looks like Rudolph out there, that is awesome!".   So thank you mom and dad for the snuggie and Oscar's new light.

And today I am wearing the sweater my dad gave me.  Not because it's cold (he's worried it's too cold where I live) but because it's cozy.   This house actually holds heat very nicely, especially the bedrooms.  The coldest room is the living room, and we keep a bunch of blankets in there anyway.  (It's usually where Oscar can be found napping during the day when we are not home, naughty dog! sleeping on the couch!)

We spent Christmas afternoon and evening at Anthony's mom's house.  The entire family was there so it got a little crowded, but it wouldn't be a family christmas without some craziness!  There were about 12 adults, 3 kids (two were under the age of two) and three dogs.  There is a cat there too, but she wisely hides while we are all there.  It was really nice to visit with Anthony's brother and his family.  My sister-in-law and I get along really well and I wish we lived closer so we could hang out more!  Especially because their daughter is really adorable and lots of fun.  She is a very good natured kid, even when she gets cranky.  I'll be lucky if our baby turns out the same way! :)   The best part about her though?  She ADORED Anthony.  Couldn't stay away from him.  She spent the majority of her time climbing on top of him, grabbing his t-shirt with both hands, giggling in his face and then hugging him.  It was VERY cute.   He was making funny faces at her and making her laugh too.  At one point he was shaking his hair at her (his hair has grown quite long...Tom Brady has started a trend I'm afraid) and she then shook her head back at him, just copying what he was doing.  And since their hairstyles are fairly similar, it was very cute.  I wish I had caught that on video, but the timing never worked out.

She was very adorable and made me look forward just a little bit more to having our own cute little girl to play with. :)  Only three more months!

Whoa. Time flies.

I realized this morning that my baby's due date is exactly three months from today.

Where did the time go?!

I have started having the "dreams" that I have heard other pregnant women (and the books) mention.  They started three nights ago.  Very colorful, vivid, wild dreams!  On occasion I will have dreams like this, they usually "stick" with me when I wake up and I will write them down.  So when I read that this happens to pregnant women, I started looking forward to them.  I won't share all the details, but I did have my first dream about the baby as well.  In my dream the baby was about 6-8 months old (not a newborn) and would say "Mommy!" and light up when I walked in the room.  In my dream this made me very happy and I absolutely adored this baby.  And then I tried correcting the baby to say "Mama" instead of "Mommy".

I was very amused by this dream when I woke up.  Especially because in this dream, the baby was a boy. haha!

Yesterday I had the day off from work and I spent it shopping with my sister and one of my sisters-in-law.  I had a great time.   I didn't have anything that I *had* to buy so it was a fun relaxing experience.   Okay, so I *had* to buy some Lindt chocolate truffles.  But that was it. :)

I did find a sparkly shirt I can wear to a friend's New Years Eve party, so that is good.  It's going to be fancy this year (black tie optional) so everyone is dressing up.  I was a little worried about what I was going to wear, but it looks like black pants and sparkly top will be it.  I was hoping to wear a dress, but who cares, I'll be more comfy in my pants anyway. :)

Just because you are pregnant, does not mean you can't look fabulous!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Snow Reversal

The area that I live in is typically cold in the winter.  And if there is going to be a storm, we definitely get it. It could be nice weather everywhere else and where I live will get a foot of snow. :)

The past two days though, we have had a reversal of sorts.  The area that is usually warmer than where I live is actually getting the snow!  It's very odd.  I wasn't prepared for this at all today. When I got ready for work this morning there was a light dusting of snow on the ground.  So I wore my regular shoes and didn't think much of it.  On my way in to work, I started to see some snow flurries and by the time I got to the area where I work, visibility was difficult.  It was almost snow storm conditions!  Totally crazy!

And of course I wasn't wearing my snow boots.  Last winter they were my regular go-to shoe for the entire season (they are from LL Bean and look more like high-top sneakers).  Looks like I'll be wearing those again starting tomorrow.   That is of course until my feet swell up from pregnancy and I need to wear flip flops in the dead of winter.  That would really stink.  I hope I don't have to.

Has anyone else seen those Hyundai commercials with the couple singing Christmas Carols and they have a car parked in their living room?  They look like they are having a lot of fun.  I was curious if they were a real music group and it turns out they are!  If you frequent YouTube, then you probably already knew that, but I didn't since I don't really surf YouTube looking for cool videos.

Check out this article to read more about them.  I may have to download some of their iTunes music later.

I hope everyone has their shopping and wrapping done!  Only three more days.  Tomorrow I have the day off and will be going shopping with my sister and sister-in-law.  I have all my shopping done, so tomorrow is just for fun.   yay!   I probably won't post an update to the blog.   Check back on Thursday!

Did you miss me?

On Friday I spent the day moving one of our offices from an old location to a new one.   This meant that I was away from my computer almost the entire day.  It also meant I was not on the internet or on any chat program.

I let my husband know that I would be offline most of the day Friday.  I didn't tell anyone else.

Apparently some people were worried!  Awww! :)  I'm glad you all missed me.   I was fine.   Some days I'm just not on the computer.  This usually means that I do not update my blog as well.

I'm sure you have noticed I do not update on the weekends.   The majority of my life is spent in front of a computer.  I try to get away from it on the weekends and evenings, I think it's better for me that way.  It would be way too easy to just go home and plop myself in front of the TV or computer again when I got home.

So what else?  I probably won't have too many updates this week.  The Christmas holiday is the end of the this week and I will be very busy.   Loads of people to visit, presents to wrap and I am taking some time off of work as well.  I'm hoping later this week to have another video of Oscar.

My dog has a Hollywood smile!

Yesterday Oscar had to get his teeth cleaned at the vet.   For those of you out there who do not have dogs, this is actually a lot more complicated than you would think (and a LOT more expensive!).

When the vet has to clean a dog's teeth, they need to put him under anesthesia.  This is for the dog's comfort and safety as well as the doctor.  So this is an all day event that involves drugs and procedures and a lot of our money.   The reason Oscar needed his teeth cleaned was because he had a lot of plaque build-up.  He didn't have any infections or signs of gum disease (and his breath hasn't been too stinky) but the doctor recommended it as a precautionary measure to prevent any future problems.

Anthony thinks the vet just wanted our money.  I told him that they probably did want our money, but that they also care about the health of our dog.  (we go to a great office, they love the animals!)  If we want him to live a long happy life without bad breath, we need to take better care of his teeth.  We don't brush his teeth as often as we should.  Which we have NO excuse for, since Oscar loves to have his teeth brushed.  I think he likes to eat the toothpaste (it's beef flavored) more than opening his mouth to let us brush, but he does enjoy it. :)

We also don't give him enough bones or hard chew toys to chew on.  If we did, the chewing would remove some of the plaque on his teeth as well.  So lucky Oscar, we are going to give him more bones!

When Oscar first came home, he was still under the influence of the drugs.  His eyes had that funny look and his tail was down.  He was being very low-key actually.  He ate some food which was good and basically just wanted to cuddle in my lap.  Once Oscar was feeling better, I decided to check out his teeth...and WOW I was impressed.  They were WHITE (not yellow) and he looked great.  Now it's my job to keep them looking that way.

And lucky for you, all my readers,  I have a picture of his Hollywood smile:  (with help from me)

Don't expect him to guess ladies.

Just save everyone a lot of headaches.  If you want something specific for Christmas, just tell him!

Every year (except our first Christmas) Anthony and I discuss gifts for each other.  We decide upon a limit and let each other know stuff we are interested in.  A few times we have also decided to buy something big for ourselves.   For example, last year we bought a new bed.  It was the perfect Christmas present because both of our backs felt much better on the new bed.  (plus it came with a TV!)

This year we have decided to pay off some debt for Christmas and Birthdays.  Some people think that is a bad idea because we might fall into a habit of not doing anything for each other.  This isn't true.  We always find a nice way to celebrate our birthdays (we usually go out to eat) and spend time with each other, without the need for gifts.  Sometimes we do gifts, sometimes we don't.  I like having the feeling of not being under pressure to "top" what I did last year.   Yep, this is my selfish way of not having to think of the perfect gift for him.  And you know what?  I think he likes it too.  :)

Besides, throughout the year we do buy things that we both want and could use, but it's usually a family item.  For example we may buy a new camera now that we are expecting a baby.   We have also been discussing a food processor and we did just purchase a new vacuum.  Even though these weren't surprises and they were not gifted to each other, we did spend the time together picking out the items.  And I prefer to spend time with him more than anything else.

So ladies, do your man a favor.  (or men, do yourselves a favor, you never know, she might be secretly pleased!) Bring up the holidays and other gift giving occasions, set up limits or expectations.  But most importantly, spend time together.  Tell each other how important you are to each other.   And never under estimate the well thought out card. :)

Or if you still want to try the hint routine, use this comic, but I would still be blunt, men don't pick up on our "hints" as much as we think they should.

Winner and more facebook grumbling.

So I have picked a winner in my contest.  We had four people guess correctly, but only one didn't need to google the answer.  I have decided that person is the winner, Tara!

It's my blog, so I get to choose who I want to win.  Plus she's having a girl and she is due same day as me, so I get to pick her as the winner. :)   If we had a few more entries into the contest, I would have done the drawing from a hat.  Maybe for the next time.   So what was the correct answer?

Jim Dear opens the front door and there is a blizzard outside.  He yells up the stairs:
"Darling, are you sure you want watermelon?"
Darling replies: "Uh huh, and some chop suey too!"

This is from Lady and The Tramp!  Lady looks on this scene half awake.  I loved this movie growing up and now that I am pregnant and have a dog of my own, it takes on new significance.   We get to see the arrival of a baby from the dog's point of view.   One of my favorite scenes is when Lady sings "What is a baby anyway?" and she sneaks upstairs to see what is going on and Jim Dear and Darling let her peek at the baby.   Lady instantly falls in love with the baby and is the baby's protector.    GREAT movie.  I need to get this on DVD.

So the prize that I wanted to give was this:
Lady and the Tramp Ornament

But it's sold out.  booo!  So I'll pick out a new prize soon, and I'll send it along to Tara.

I'm sure you all saw my facebook grumbling last week.  The story didn't end there.  On Saturday morning with the help of a friend, I found out that there was ANOTHER profile with my name and picture.  Yep, two profiles on facebook.  I have now deleted all friends from both profiles, deleted all wall posts and have set both accounts for REAL deletion.   Well, as real as facebook will actually delete the accounts.  I don't believe they will ever truly be deleted.   One of my accounts had been deactivated and had zero activity for THREE years.   And they kept all of my information.  Why?  According to my husband, he says they are convinced that if I leave, I will come back.   No way.  No how.  Never happening now.   I don't care if I am the last person to not be on facebook, I now refuse to join.   Want to guess how stubborn I can be?

Ok, I am done with my facebook ranting.

Facebook Spam: Not from me.

Hey everyone -

Most of you know me, and know that I do NOT use facebook.  I used to have an account but I had deleted it.  Or so I thought.  This morning a friend of mine sent me a note saying:

Him:  your facebook account is sending spam
Me:  I don't have a facebook account
Him:  well....it came from you
Me:  interesting.  Can you forward it to me?

So he forwards me the email and it does look like it's from me.  It's using my full name and my maiden last name.  It even has a picture of me.  (how scary is that?!)  The picture it was using was a picture that I used to have up as a profile picture from WAY back.  It's the very first profile picture I used and then deleted when I changed it.  I "deleted" my facebook account over a year ago.

So of course I had to do some digging.  Which meant I had to try logging into my account and hey look at that!  I do have an account.  They NEVER deleted it.  Those jerks!

So I went through and I deleted all my wall posts, all my friends and every message I had in there.  I tried to clear it out and make it as private as possible.  Then I set it to actually delete.  (Facebook has since added an actual delete feature.)  In two weeks my account should be deleted as long as I don't log into it.  (I also changed my password in case someone had actually hacked my account.)

So in two weeks...that account better be deleted.  I also sent in a report to facebook about the phishing scheme email.  I doubt I will hear back from anyone.  This was definitely the last straw for me.  I will NEVER join facebook now.

There is no way that my "friends" should be getting an email that looks like it's from a facebook account of me with my picture and my maiden name on it IF my account was truly deactivated and facebook NEVER sells our information to third parties.

My account had not been tampered with.  I had no "sent" items to my friends.  Some other third party used my profile picture and name (that they *only* could have gotten on my old facebook profile), sent a fancy email that made it look like it came from facebook and also got my contacts email addresses.   They either stole this information or it was sold to them.  Hmmm...how much money do the facebook founders have?  And how do they get that much money?  Users don't pay for the service.  The money must come from somewhere.

Nothing you put on the internet is private folks, just remember that.  I don't care what the privacy policies say.  The same goes for this blog, gmail, google, facebook, yahoo email, and the list goes on.  It doesn't matter.  If you post it online, even with secure passwords, it is available to unscrupulous people somewhere.  Guaranteed.

All of this makes me a little worried about how freely even I will use online banking and making purchases online.  Somewhere someone is tracking every move I make in an effort to either spy on me or learn what I might buy next and how they can influence that decision.    I should just go live in a cave.

So...if you got a facebook message from me, please delete.  I do not have a facebook account.
And now, because of this experience, I NEVER will.

you should call my bluffs

Happy Thursday everyone!

Anthony and I were cracking up over that poor dog who was so sad in yesterday's post.  Too cute, if you haven't seen it yet, check it out.  (see yesterday's post).   Of course, what I wasn't expecting, was to find my own sad dog when I got home.  He had left me a present under the tree.  Well, technically it was next to the tree.  It wasn't the kind of present you usually want to find from your dog.   :)

Story Time:
I once got a birthday card from a boyfriend in college.  The front of the card was a picture of a dog.  It said "I made you a present."  and the inside said "it's in the front yard.".   My boyfriend at the time thought it was hilarious.   I only thought it was funny if there was a real home made present sitting in the front yard, not the brown and smelly dog-made kind.   There wasn't.  I was a little upset.   (Don't worry folks, we talked about it, and he made it up to me, he wasn't a bad boyfriend, he just didn't know that young ladies like romantic or special gifts, and typically don't want potty-humor gifts.)  Needless to say, we aren't together anymore but we did actually remain friends after a period of time.  I wonder what he is up to these days?

Lucky for me I am now married to a guy who knows not to get me a birthday card like that. :)  He is usually either GREAT at picking out presents...or completely wrong.  Most of the time he gets it perfect.  And regardless of the gift, he ALWAYS gets a great card.  Love my man! :)

So back to the title of my post.  You should call my bluffs.  I always write about how I am going to do this or that....and then I don't.  For example, last week I promised a post with a video of my dog.  I didn't do that.  At least not yet!

Here you go!  A video of my dog.  He is playing with a chestnut or acorn or something he found in the yard.  Every time I tried to move closer, he thought I was going to steal his new toy, so he ran away.   At the end is my husband on the roof of the house we are renting (he was cleaning out the gutters).

Don't forget to try and guess what I was referencing in my earlier posts this week, there will be a prize!

The Velveteen Rabbit

Yesterday I received a gift for the baby from one of my co-workers, she gave the baby The Velveteen Rabbit.

This was a perfect gift!   I love to read and I love books.   I didn't read too many beginner's childrens books when I was younger (I started with Charlotte's Web) and so it occurred to me that I might need to make a list of books to get for my child.   I will also be raiding my book collection that is at my parent's house to collect my childrens books.   I do plan on reading to my child right away.  In fact, I may even start before she comes out!

This book really was perfect though.  I love animals and I love toys and I love books.  I think I was smiling for the rest of the day, it really made my day.

It also reminded me that I really want to write a children's book of my own.   My friend Marybeth is going to try to write 30 posts in 30 days on her blog.   I have decided to join her, but instead I will write a book that month.  (or at least begin one.)   I never did start writing during November.  I think I just got writer's block.  I couldn't get motivated.  But I like the idea of starting off January 1st with doing some writing.

Stay tuned for more information about that!

And to make you smile...this dog is so sad!  She/He knew she/he had done something wrong!  Poor doggy!
Sad Dog!

Don't forget to try and guess what I was talking about in my previous posts.  Here and here.

Milk, it does a body good!

Who remembers those commercials about how good milk is for your body?  Remember the commercials where the scrawny kid turns into a gorgeous adult?    You can bet I drank my milk!

Anyway, I wanted to share this article with you:
The Truth About Milk

I think you will learn a few things about milk while you are reading.  Just to let you all know, when I started losing weight, I switched from skim milk to whole milk or 2% milk.  The weight practically melted off of me.  Also, my doctor has requested that I drink 2-3 glasses of milk a day now that I am pregnant.  It's for the protein and the calcium, it's good for growing a baby.  It certainly doesn't hurt that I crave it like crazy!

So drink your milk (if you are not lactose intolerant) it's good for you!

Has anyone figured out my reference from yesterday's post?
The hint was my craving for chop suey and watermelon.   What am I referencing?

If someone guesses right, I'll get them a prize.
I don't know what the prize is yet, but I'll come up with something good.    If more than one person gets it, I'll put names in a hat and have Anthony draw a name out for the winner.  I'll then contact the winner so they can claim their prize.

C'mon...go for it, you have nothing to lose...   Entries for correct answer must be posted by Friday at 5pm Eastern Standard Time.   Leave a comment saying you know the answer, then I will email you. :)

Weight Loss then Pregnancy

Because I was trying to lose weight and then I got pregnant, I never really did learn how to maintain my weight.  I was working on the slow weight loss and now that I have a baby to grow, I need to work on the slow weight gain.   It's hard to know when you are eating too little or too much or just enough.

My doctor says I am doing a great job on my weight gain.  I'm 2 pounds below the average weight gain at this point in my pregnancy, so I even have a little wiggle room.   So I must be doing a good job....but I am SO HUNGRY!

When I got the hunger pains before and it wasn't one of my six scheduled meals,  I would ignore the hunger pains and tell them to go away.  Now I can't ignore those.  Typically, at 9pm if I was hungry I would have nothing, a glass of water, or a small glass of milk.  Now if I get hungry at 9pm I HAVE to eat.  Something substantial, with protein.  If I don't, I'm guaranteed to wake up at 1am with a growling stomach.  (Also, if I am hungry, it means the baby is hungry.  So now, if I ignore the hunger pains, I'm making my baby wait as well...this is not a good thing.  Growling stomach equals eat.  Now.)

The other night, it was 11pm and my stomach was growling so loud, my husband heard it.  He said, you better eat something.  I had a cheese stick.  I really wanted Southwestern Egg Rolls from Chilis.  Good thing I'm a nice wife and I didn't make my husband go get them.   There is no guarantee about tonight though.  I feel like I want some American Chop Suey...and maybe some watermelon.  (bonus points if anyone knows the reference!)

The expressions on his face! The tail wag! I love doggies.

I wanted to share this Peanuts comic....awww!  I LOVE Snoopy!   You can click on the comic to take you to the Yahoo comics page for more comics fun!

Baby Monitors

Our first real baby stuff arrived yesterday.

We bought a video monitor on woot.com.  It was a great price and had great reviews, so we decided to get it.  It arrived in the mail yesterday, and if all of the baby stuff is as much fun as that baby monitor, I'm really going to enjoy collecting some baby stuff.

Seriously, this was more like a toy for me than anything else.   It has a camera that you set up in the baby's room (and it has night vision!).  It also has a two way microphone speaker, so I can walkie-talkie to my baby and say "go to sleep."  It also has a feature where I can turn on 5 different songs for my baby, little lullabies.

I set it up so I could play around with the controls and I discovered another feature, it can monitor the temperature in the babies room!  Neat!   So I put the camera on a speaker in the living room and turned it on just to see how it all worked.   I was playing with the buttons and I turned on the music.  Apparently this got Oscar curious so he went over to check out the camera.  On my end I got to see a big black nose sniffing the camera.  It was pretty hilarious.

I think I will definitely be using my new baby monitor to spy on my dog until the baby arrives.  hehehe.

Anyone want to guest blog?  I will threaten you with gross pregnancy stories and even a "I saved money on my insurance" story.  Any takers?  Let me know...haha.   Until then, you can look forward to those stories next week.

Or if you are really lucky I will give you a blog post with a video of my dog.

I can't shut up.

I have noticed a new odd habit of mine lately.  I can't shut up.  I get on this tangent and I can't stop.  I just go from one topic to another and I am hardly letting anyone else get a word in.    I don't know what started this.  Is it a pregnancy thing?  Is it because I no longer live in a condo community and I have less people to talk to everyday?

It's very odd.  The funny thing is, I realize I am doing it, but not until I have been doing it for a few minutes.  It's usually when whoever I am talking to starts to get that glazed over look in their eyes.  I'm sure you know what I mean.  They are just nodding and saying "uh huh" and they have lost all interest in what you have to say.   I think I will try to listen more, talk less.  Seriously, I don't know what brought this on, but hopefully I can break the habit before people start complaining behind my back that I don't shut up....unless the complaining has already begun?

On that note, I thought I would try an experiment!   Does anyone want to be a guest blogger?  I will shut up for a few posts and let others speak.  I would love to hear about how people celebrate the holidays or anything else they want to talk about.  (Their pets, their kids, whatever!)   If you know me well enough that you have my email address, send me an email to let me know you would like to be a guest blogger.   If you don't have my email address, then leave a comment here stating that you want to be a guest blogger.   I will get in touch with you.
Blog posts can be about whatever you like.  Even posts with no words and just pictures will be okay.   Need to vent about something?  Go for it!   Want to start your own blog but you aren't sure?  Guest blog!

Fun for everyone and I can practice that not talking too much thing!

Fun Fact:  This weekend, I am totally watching this Christmas Special:
He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special

I love watching Christmas themed episodes of my favorite TV shows and Christmas specials!  I'm so full of Holiday cheer this year.  It's so odd for me!  I'm usually Scrooge!  (This I am DEFINITELY blaming the pregnancy.)

Another Fun Fact:  My new profile picture is of a Mama Wolf and her baby.  Awwwww.   (yep, pregnancy again)  Mushy mushy goodness!

Contact me to be a guest blogger so I will shut up about all the mushy pregnancy stuff! :)

December First!

Wow!  Time flies!  It's already the last month of the year 2010!  Like my new background?   We don't have any snow yet, but I think this looked pretty.  It's almost winter anyway.

I will have more to post tomorrow, promise!  Including more Oscar stories.

I have decided to give up on my author posts.  I didn't get too much feedback on them and my subscribed readers actually went down!  (gasp!)  So I  guess people are not interested in reading about my favorite authors.  That's ok, I'll write some more about ME.  And pregnancy.  And my dog.  And life in general.

More tomorrow.
